Sleeping Beauty

Once upon a time, in a kingdom far far away, there lived a strong and mighty King and his beautiful Queen.  They had a wonderful new baby princess. The king was jumping with joy. He held a big feast and he invited all of his family and friends. There were 13 fairies but only 12 were invited.

The 13th fairy was nasty and dangerous. The king knew that the 13th fairy would cast a bad spell on his daughter. After the feast all the fairies were told to give their gift to the princess. Fairies gave gifts of  kindness and beauty. The princess had everything. But before the last  fairy could give her gift the nasty and mean, 13th fairy had arrived.   

She cast a spell on the new princess, that on her 15th birthday she will prick her finger on a spinning wheel and fall down dead. Then she vanished into thin air. The king and queen were scared. The 12th fairy used her gift to change the spell, instead of her falling down dead, she will fall asleep for 100 years until her true love can come.  All the spindles in the kingdom were destroyed.  

After many years the princess was turning 15. Before the kingdom could wake up she was up and wandering the castle. She found a old room. When she entered she saw an old lady with a  spindle.

“ Would you help me young girl? ” she said, with a croaky voice.

“ Of course ” said the princess. Just like that she pricked her finger and fell into a deep sleep. The old lady was no ordinary person she was the 13th fairy. She put Sleeping Beauty on the bed in the castle and went away.  She guarded the castle with a jungle of thorns.  

Many prince’s came to rescue the kingdom but they could not get past the thorns. But 100yrs later 1 prince had come and he had got past the thorns. As he entered the kingdom he saw the king and queen asleep on the red carpet. He searched and searched the kingdom and finally found the princess.  He instantly fell in love. He gave her a true loves kiss and she woke up, and then the kingdom woke up. The princess got married to the prince and they all lived happily ever after.

This is my Narrative on sleeping beauty. In class we had to re write sleeping beauty. We read through it a lot of times so that we knew what the story was about. You need to know the story very well if you are going to re write a story.
